The Mingle House Bed and Breakfast is located just one block from Historic downtown Bell Buckle, Tennessee. Incorporated in 1856, Bell Buckle was a booming railroad town known for cattle exports. It was a bustling community at the turn of the century, then came the great depression and the decline of the railroad. The town took a 25 year nap with Main street in disrepair, faded signs, closed doors, empty buildings-some just holding on by a thread. Who knew this thread would become the fabric of our future? The local home demonstration club, a group of gentile ladies, opened the quilt box so they could show off their handiwork. Then an antique shop followed. Soon a potter came to town and she invited other artists, writers, and anyone who could play a fiddle or cook a pot of chili. My town went from grey and frayed to a patchwork of painted awnings and appliquéd gingerbread-trimmed porches, even a 40 x 50 ft. quilt painted on the pavement where a rusty dumpster once set. Now known for a calico of unique shops, world famous Café, bluegrass music & hometown festivals, Bell Buckle is host to the annual Webb School Art and Craft Festival which has an annual attendance of 50,000+.
